Valley Voice: Aluminaire House helps promote architectural tourism

Architectural tourism is a thriving industry for the city of Palm Springs. Our community boasts a rich architectural heritage of iconic commercial and residential buildings that draw thousands of tourists from around the world to our city. One of the many architects that added to our rich portfolio of significant buildings was Albert Frey. We are pleased to let the world know that we will soon add another structure to Frey’s impressive portfolio of Coachella Valley buildings. When the park is completed, the site for Aluminaire will be prepared and the home will be reassembled, using privately raised funds, and opened to the public on permanent display. “Architectural Record” ranked Aluminaire as the 30th of 125 most important works of architecture worldwide in the 125 years since the magazine’s founding in 1891. Aluminaire will enhance the growing industry of architectural tourism that has elevated Palm Springs to worldwide acclaim.
